Youth Justice Conference 2024: Improving outcomes through multi-agency working
Skills for Justice are sponsoring the Youth Justice Conference 2024, taking place online on 10 September. This event brings people together to hear the latest initiatives and guidance being utilised on a national and local level, to address challenges within youth justice.
Attendees can connect with other practitioners and organisations to hear case studies, best practice, and thought leadership on opportunities.
The theme this year will enable the sector to discuss working in partnership to improve outcomes for young offenders, supporting young women, tackling disproportionality, and look at techniques used to target niche but important demographics of young offenders.
Workforce experts Tam Whipp and Sharon Wilton will be holding a session on the agenda to talk about supporting youth justice to develop a resilient workforce through identifying a shared language. In this session, they will look at:
- Exploring current and future workforce challenges within the youth justice sector
- Establishing the need to support, nurture and develop those working in the youth justice sector – what workforce development means
- Providing collaborative solutions to workforce development – creating shared language and understanding, aligning and standardising ways of working, designing transferable skills and knowledge
- Delivering a future proof and resilient youth justice workforce in collaboration with stakeholders.
The conference will host speakers from across the youth justice system, including the Youth Justice Board for England and Wales, HM Inspectorate of Prisons, youth justice services in Bristol and London, Edge Hill University plus more.
